This in-person event is in Buffalo, New York as part of a two-day zine focused event at Buffalo State. View all the workshops.

My workshop will be on Friday, April 25th from 1-2:30PM. You can register at the link below if you are local to Buffalo!

Zines are a way for us to tell our stories. They are an extremely powerful tool in that they can be almost anything you want them to be, you only need to imagine it and put pen to paper. Zines can provide a glimpse into another person’s perspective. They can capture a moment in a life that demands further exploration or explanation or they can be a chronicle of a person’s history, through biography or autobiographical memoir zines.

This workshop will take you through some examples of zines that illustrate the more personal moments from their creators and give you tips, tricks and techniques for how to capture those moments in your own life to get them down on paper, how to incorporate ephemera and mementos into your zines, plus advice for printing and distributing your zine once it’s finished.

You will leave the workshop with the tools and knowledge you need to make your zine happen: conceptualizing your zine, organizing and structuring your zine, making and printing your zine.
