
Alexandra Gallant-Lee is an award-winning artist, cartoonist, designer & science communicator based in Boston, Massachusetts. She was previously the Creative Designer for the Brigham Research Institute at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, working with scientists, engineers, clinicians and other innovators for over fifteen years to support their research and improve their own science communication through creative, visual and digital communication, offering her expertise in user experience design, and web design, especially WordPress design and development.
Alexandra is the writer, artist, designer and publisher of all of her comics and zines, including her most recent comic, How to Learn to Code in Ten Easy Steps While Planning a Trip to Paris and Influencing People, was the recipient of a MICE Mini-Grant in 2023.
Alexandra’s work often features colorful art, bold lines and shapes and a focus on nature, science and the world around us. A natural curiosity and a creative mindset give her the ability to work across medium and concept effortlessly, with work spanning from illustration and comics to animation, photography, videography, virtual event production, sculpture, cosplay, costume design, prop design and countless other creative outlets.
Alexandra studied Criminology, Criminal Justice and English Literature at Northeastern University, where she also worked as a researcher, assisting with field research, data collection and analysis, coding and cleaning of data and developing websites communicating research results during her co-op placements. She was also previously an instructor at a craft studio, where she taught jewelry-making, introductory knitting, collage and painting, as well as a rock climbing instructor at a summer camp in the Adirondacks where she was wilderness first aid certified and lead multi-day wilderness trips, developed climbing programming and project adventure initiatives.
